The Effect of Social Value Orientation on Theta to Alpha Ratio in Resource Allocation Games

The social value orientation (SVO) has a profound effect on the strategic decision making in economic choices and ability to succeed coordination games. With that mind, this study we wanted examine an electrophysiological measure elicited different resource allocation problems affect preferences of player. We recorded EEG from participants while they were engaged varying magnitude reward difference size between alternative choices. found theta alpha ratio (TAR) can differentiate individualistic prosocial players. Specifically, players more sensitive overall payoff (reflected by radius size) as well two alternatives task. These variables, magnitude, alternatives, have significantly differentiated TAR levels prosocials proselfs (p < 0.001). For extreme differences (small or large), was higher comparison medium sized differences.
